KBS series “Dream High” sold to 5 countries
KBS drama “Dream High” has been sold to five countries in Asia, according to public TV network KBS’ contents division on Tuesday.
KBS confirmed that its 16-part TV series “Dream High” has been sold to Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam and Cambodia and is negotiating with Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia.
Japan’s DATV, which was the first to acquire the rights for the show to air on television and its DVDs, has been showing the drama in the country since January 27.
“Dream High,” which is a story about six teenagers who strives to achieve their dreams of stage debut attracted much attention for starring actual idol singers including Bae Suzy from girl group miss A, Ham Eun-jung from T-ara, Ok Taecyeon and Jang Wooyoung from boy band 2PM and songstress IU.
The show which is also a joint production of entertainment firm KEYEAST led by Korean heartthrob actor Bae Yong-joon and JYP Entertainment, one of Korea's top K-pop talent house, led by singer and producer Park Jin-young, is currently being aired on the prime time slots every Monday and Tuesday.
